Will doing a colon and liver cleanse reduce the effectiveness of the birth control pill?

I’m thinking about doing a colon cleanse and then a liver cleanse, but I am taking oral contraceptives and need to know if doing either of these two things will make the pill ineffective for the time being. I don’t want to get pregnant!

ooo. that is a really good question. maybe contact the manufacturer or call your dr?

As far as the whole Birth Control and cleanse products issue, there hasn’t been any absolute concrete proof that one affects the other in any predictable way. However, both the colon and liver cleanse put stress on the liver. It is not wise to do both at once, it would be better to stagger them about a month apart.

Although there isn’t any medical proof that your BC will be less effective, there is still enough individual cases that would make me use a backup BC method while taking both of these. Hope this helps. I lost 40 pounds in a month on the colon cleanse, I wrote about it at http://www.advanced-colon-max.com
