natural colon cleansers?

I was going to answer, but Gavin articulated my thoughts very well.

Drink water and eat foods with fiber – anything else only on the advise of your doctor.

Sufficient water allows the colon the ability to produce the mucus it needs to lubricate its inner walls, and sufficient fiber in the diet allows stools to absorb water so that they can move more efficiently. Fiber also acts as micro-brushes to sweep the walls of the colon as the stool passes along. In other words, the colon is self-cleansing. You don’t need colon cleansers – not enemas, castor oil, laxatives, or expensive herbal preparations. If you’re constipated of course you can resort to an enema or laxative, but if constipation is a chronic problem you need to have it checked out.

My dad has been taking a tablespoon of bran in the morning and evening, both with a glass of water for 20 years now, and he has been ‘regular’ ever since.

I was having problems a while back and tried it, and it definitely cleans out the colon!

You can find bran at some supermarkets and health food stores.
