Fasting and colon cleansing do work for some people, for others they don´t, there is a lot of believing in its effects involved. The idea that you need to "cleanse" your body in this way is based on the idea that your body can´t do it properly on its own, and if you are a healthy, normal person, your body can.
Again, it does have something like a psychological effect and might make you feel better if you´re the type for it – but honestly, eating healthily, getting up for some pilates and a long nice walk outside, fresh air and all will make you feel as good, without the nasty procedure.
